Two people, including a teenage boy, were found dead with their throats slit on a vacant residential plot at posh Gulshan area in Dhaka on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Rafiq, 62, from village Dabdabia under Sadar upazila in Barisal district, and Sabbir, 15, from Raiganj Bazar under Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh district.
On information, police recovered the bodies from the plot on Road No. 108 in Gulshan-2 at about 11:30am.
Police said Rafiq used to look after the plot and opened a tea-stall on the plot, while Sabbir worked at the tea-stall.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gulshan Police Station Touhid Ahmed confirmed the incident, saying that the two might have been killed sometime after Thursday midnight.
Residents from the neighbourhood said the tea-stall had been closed since Thursday.
Residents from neighbourhood informed police in the morning as bad odour was coming out of the house, the OC said.
The bodies were sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy on completion of the legal procedure.
