A motorcyclist was killed and another injured after a head-on collision between a motorcycle and an auto rickshaw at Gomastapur upazila in
Chapainawabganj district on Saturday afternoon.
The accident happened at Madrasa intersection on the Soudala-Kansart road in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Sahjan Ali, 38, son of late Afsar Ali, a resident of Hadinagar village under Shibganj upazila in the district.
It was learnt that a motorcycle collided with an auto rickshaw in the area while two people riding on a motorcycle were going to Kansart, leaving the motorcyclist critically injured.
Locals rescued them and took them to Gomastapur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared Sahjan dead.
The injured Liton was referred to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) for better treatment.
The body was handed over to the deceased's family members, said Golam Kibria, officer-in-charge of Gomastapur Police Station.
