Like Day 2, Day 3 of the final Test of the two-match series between Bangladesh and India was also called off without a single delivery being bowled due to a wet outfield at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Sunday.

Although there was no rain on Sunday, the players from both teams remained at their hotel. Match officials inspected the field three times before eventually declaring the day's play abandoned.

The efforts of the ground staff came under criticism, as they failed to prepare the field for play despite having the entire day. Drainage and ground preparation facilities at Kanpur have been criticized for a long time and the ground staff once again fell short failing to prepare the pitch even after the sun came out in the afternoon.

As a result, only 35 overs have been bowled in the first three days of the Test. The weather forecast for Monday suggests there may be further overcast conditions.

On Day 1, more than two-thirds of the scheduled overs were washed out, with only 35 overs bowled. After being invited to bat first by India, Bangladesh reached 107 runs for the loss of three wickets in their first innings.

Opener Zakir Hasan was dismissed for a duck, while Shadman Islam scored 24 and captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto contributed 31 runs. Mominul Haque remained unbeaten on 40, with Mushfiqur Rahim not out on 6.

Akash Deep claimed two wickets for India, while Ravichandran Ashwin took one.
