Four burnt in Gazipur explosion

At least four people sustained burn injuries in an explosion in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur on Monday afternoon.

The injured Helena Akhtar, 45, Halima Akhter, 40, Rita Akter, 20, and Miftah Uddin Ahmed, 35, were taken to the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Zainal Abedin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sreepur Police Station, said the explosion occurred when a truck was being repaired beside a road around 1PM on Monday at Rajabari union of the upazila. But the reason behind the explosion could not be known immediately.
