243 firearms seized, 110 held in 26 days

Members of law enforcement agencies in separate drives across the country recovered 243 firearms and arrested 110 persons till today from September 4, a press release of the Police Headquarters said on Monday afternoon.

The recovered firearms include 13 revolvers, 67 pistols, 14 rifles, 31 shotguns, six pipe guns, 24 shooter guns, 25 LG, 39 guns, one AK47 rifle, two gas-guns, five air guns, seven SBBL, five SMG, two teargas launchers and two  three quarters, the release added.

The joint force comprising the members of Armed Forces, Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Bangladesh Coast Guard and Ansar conducted the drives in different parts of the country to recover illegal firearms and ammunition alongside bringing the drug peddlers to book.
