Two children drowned in the Karotoa river in Gaibandha's Gobindaganj upazila on Monday.
The accident took place in the afternoon at Satana Balua village under Darobasto Union of the upazila.
The dead were Abu Bakkar, 7, son of Bulu Mia of that village, and Hossain Mia, 7, son of Bulu Mia of Kunderpara village under Phulbari Union.
According to their family, the two children went to bathe in the river near their house around noon. At that time, they drowned in the water.
Later, their relatives recovered their bodies.
Gobindganj Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Zahurul Islam confirmed it.
