Tarique enquires about families of mass movement in Pabna

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Monday enquired about the families of those who were killed and injured during the students-led mass upsurge in Pabna.

At the directive of Tarique Rahman, a delegation of "Amra BNP Paribar" formally met families of the victims at Hajirhat Betepara under Pabna sadar upazila, said a press release here.

On behalf of the acting chairman, the delegation members conveyed sympathy to the members of those families.

BNP Chairperson's Adviser and party's Pabna District Unit Coordinator Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Pabna District Convener Habibur Rahman Habib, "Amra BNP Paribar" Adviser Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul, Convener Atiqur Rahman Rumon, Moulavibazar BNP Adviser and Qatar BNP General Secretary Shariful Haque Saju joined the programme.

BNP's Pabna District Unit Member Secretary Advocate Masud Khandaker, "Amra BNP Paribar" Members Masud Rana Liton and Mustakim Billah, Chhatra Dal central committee's former Vice-President Jamil Hossain and local leaders and workers of Pabna District Unit of BNP and its associate bodies were present.

According to the data of Pabna district administration, Jahidul Islam and Mahbub Hasan Niloy were in the list of martyrs of the mass uprising while Sajjad Hossain Anik, Arafat and Mahmudul Hasan were in the list of injured people.

The BNP acting chairman is continuing his effort to keep in touch with the families of the victims of the movement.

As the chief patron of "Amra BNP Paribar", he is sending delegation to different districts to take care of the families and providing financial support.    —BSS
