Food Secy Elahi Dad Khan's appointment cancelled just after a day

The government has cancelled the contractual appointment of retired official Elahi Dad Khan as the new secretary to the Ministry of Food.

Elahi Dad Khan was given appointment as the food secretary on a two-year contractual basis on Monday (September 30).
However, the appointment was cancelled on Tuesday (October 1), just after one day.

On Tuesday, Ministry of Public Administration's senior secretary Mokhlesur Rahman stated it to reporters. However, it could not be know why the appointment was cancelled.

Elahi Dad Khan joined the food cadre as part of the BCS 1982 (Regular Batch), where he built his career until his retirement from regular service. He served as district food controller, and director of the Department of Food, among others.
