AIIB to provide $700m loan to BD budget support    

Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will provide US$ 700 million budget support to Bangladesh which is equivalent to Tk 8,403 crore at Tk 120.05 per dollar in Bangladesh currency. 

This information has been revealed in a press release issued by Economic Relations Division (ERD) on Tuesday.

It said AIIB has assured to provide $700 million budget support to Bangladesh including $300 million to deal with climate change issues and $400 million for funding emergency economic recovery programme.
ERD Secretary Shahriar Quader Siddiqui said, "I applaud the continued support of AIIB for the development of Bangladesh. The organization has assured to continue cooperation in the development of Bangladesh."

Earlier, on September 25 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, the ERD secretary met with the president of AIIB at its annual meeting. Shahriar Quader Siddiqui said this assurance was received in that meeting.
