After only 35 overs were played on the Day-1 in Kanpur, rain disrupted the match. The remainder of Day 1 was washed out and the ball did not roll on the field for the next two days. In total 173.2 overs were played at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

Despite the limited play, Bangladesh lost the match by seven wickets resulting in a 2-0 series whitewash.

Bangladesh resumed their second innings on Tuesday at 26 for two. Mominul Haque, who had yet to score, was dismissed for 2 runs in the first over of the day.

Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto then joined opener Shadman Islam and together they added 55 runs-the highest partnership of the innings-before Shanto was dismissed for 19 runs. Shadman on the other hand, fought hard to score 50 runs off 101 balls, marking the first half-century by a Bangladesh opener in India. Mushfiqur Rahim contributed 37 runs, making him the second-highest scorer for Bangladesh.

Among the others, Liton Das managed just one run, Shakib Al Hasan was dismissed for a duck, Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored nine, Taijul Islam was out without scoring and Syed Khaled Ahmed remained unbeaten on five as Bangladesh were bowled out for 146.
Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah each claimed three wickets for India, while Akash Deep took the remaining wicket.

India needed just 95 runs to win the match and the series, but they stumbled early losing Rohit Sharma (8) and Shubman Gill (6). However, Yashasvi Jaiswal's quickfire 51 from 45 balls and Virat Kohli's unbeaten 27 off 34 ensured a comfortable chase. Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten on four as India reached 98 for 3 in 17.2 overs.

Miraz took two wickets for Bangladesh, while Taijul claimed one.

Earlier in the match, Bangladesh batted first after being sent in by India and were bowled out for 233 in their first innings. Mominul Haque played a brilliant knock of 107, while Shanto added 31 runs.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets, with Akash Deep, Mohammad Siraj and Ravichandran Ashwin picking up two wickets each. Ravindra Jadeja claimed the final wicket.

In response, India declared their first innings at 285 for 9 in just 34.4 overs, thanks to aggressive knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal (72 off 51 balls), Lokesh Rahul (68 off 43 balls), Virat Kohli (47 off 35 balls) and Shubman Gill (39 off 36 balls).

Bangladesh's spinners Shakib and Miraz took four wickets each, while pacer Hasan Mahmud claimed the remaining wicket.

India had previously beaten Bangladesh by 280 runs in the first Test, securing a clean sweep of the two-match series.
