GAIBANDHA, Oct 1: Two children drowned in the Karatoa River in the district's Gobindaganj Upazila on Monday.
The accident took place in the afternoon at Satana Balua Village under Darobasto Union of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Abu Bakkar, 7, son of Bulu Mia of that village, and Hossain Mia, 7, son of Bulu Mia of Kunderpara Village under Phulbari Union.
According to local sources, the two children went to bathe in the river near their house around noon. At that time, they drowned in the water.
Later, their relatives recovered their bodies.
Sub-Inspector of Gobindaganj Police Station Zahurul Islam confirmed the news.
