Two people were electrocuted in separate incidents in two districts - Madaripur and Netrakona, on Saturday and Tuesday.
MADARIPUR: A man was electrocuted in Shibchar Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at about 11:30am in Talukdarkandi area of Dityokhando Union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Hiron Sheikh, 45, son of Alim Uddin of the same area.
Hiron Sheikh came in contact with an electric live wire while trying to remove a wire at a rooftop of an under construction building, leaving him critically injured.
Locals rescued him, but he died on the way to hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibchar Police Station (PS) Moktar Hossain confirmed the matter.
Legal procedures are under process in this regard, the OC added.
NETRAKONA: An elderly man was electrocuted in Kendua Upazila of the district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Bishwanath Kha, 65, of Kumrura Village at Bolaishimul Union in the upazila.
According to local sources, Bishwanath was working on his son's post-wedding ceremony in the afternoon. At that time, he came in contact with a live electric wire, which left him critically injured.
He was rescued and taken to Kendua Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty physicians declared him dead.
Physician of the health complex Dr Rakibal Hasan confirmed the death, adding, he died before being taken to the hospital.
