Over 3,000 police constables will be recruited in all 64 districts by December this year through maintaining cent per cent transparency.

"Initially, we've decided to employ 3000 plus trainee recruit constables (TRCs) in 64 districts on the basis of vacancy up to June, 2024, but the number ultimately may increase in line with vacant posts," a senior official of the Police Headquarters (PH) told BSS on condition of anonymity.

The police headquarters has taken all the necessary preparations to recruit the TRCs and an advertisement containing all related information has already been published in various national dailies, the official said, adding that the main recruitment process will begin on October 25 and it will conclude on December 4.

The PH has planned to recruit the TRCs through a corruption free process and maintaining full transparency, Enamul Haque Sagor, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Media and Public Relations told BSS.

"The Police Headquarters has already warned the aspirant candidates of not being involved in any sorts of financial transaction with anyone during the recruitment process," said Sagor.

The intending TRCs would have to pass through at least seven steps in the recruitment process under the close monitoring and supervision by the Police Headquarters.

These steps are - preliminary  screening, physical measurement and verification of documents, physical fitness test, written test, intelligence question test and viva, medical test, police verification and joining the police training centre (PTC).    —BSS
