BIBM holds talks on remittance inflow in Bangladesh

A half day long roundtable discussion titled "Remittance Inflow in Bangladesh: Pre-Migration Financial and Non- Financial Initiatives" was held at the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) auditorium on Wednesday. 

Nurun Nahar, Chairman of BIBM Executive Committee and Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank was present in the programme as the chief guest. 
Obayed Ullah Al Masud, Chairman and Independent Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC was present in the programme as the guest of honour. Md. Shihab Uddin Khan, Associate Professor and Director (Research, Development and Consultancy) of BIBM delivered welcome address. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Director General of BIBM chaired the programme. 

Main paper was presented in the programme by Dr. Prashanta Kumar Banerjee, Professor (Selection Grade) of BIBM. Other members of the research team are  Mohammad Mohiuddin Siddique, Professor (Selection Grade) of BIBM;  Mahmud Salahuddin Naser, Director, Monetary Policy Department of  Bangladesh Bank; Dr. Shamsun Nahar Momotaz, Associate Professor of BIBM.

Md. Ali Hossain Prodhania, Supernumerary Professor of BIBM; Mohammad Jamal Uddin, Executive Director, Foreign Exchange Operation Department of Bangladesh Bank; Mr. Md. Mazibur Rahman, Managing Director of Probashi Kallyan Bank; Mr. Mohammad Saidul Islam, Joint Secretary, Administration and Finance Wing of Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment made comments as designated discussants. 

A good number of participants including senior bank executives, academicians, media representatives, faculty members of BIBM took part in the roundtable discussion.
