Two people including a woman died from snakebite in separate incidents in two districts - Noakhali and Khulna, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
NOAKHALI: A housewife died after being bitten by a snake in Subarnachar Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Pashchim Charbata Village under Charbata Union of the upazila in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Sandhya Rani Das, 37, wife Sanjay Debnath, a resident of the area.
According to the deceased's family sources, the woman went to pick flowers from a bush next to the house to perform puja at the residence in the morning.
On the way, when she was crossing a paddy field, a venomous snake bit her on the left leg at around 8:30 am. She returned home immediately and informed everyone about it, and started then vomiting.
She died at around 9 am on the way to Noakhali General Hospital.
DUMURIA, KHULNA: A man died from snakebite in Dumuria Upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The incident took place in Pashchim Beel Pabla area under the upazila at night.
The deceased was identified as Raju, 45.
It was known that a venomous snake bit Raju while he was sleeping in his room in the house at night, which left him critically injured. After awaking, he told the matter to his father.
Later on, the family members took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared the man dead.
