Travel ban imposed on ex-MP Jinnah, Kabir, his wife

A Dhaka court on Tuesday (October 1) imposed travel ban on Bogura-2 former lawmaker Shariful Islam Jinnah and former cabinet secretary Kabir Bin Anwar in connection with corruption allegations against them. 

Besides, the court imposed travel ban on Kabir Bin Anwar's wife Toufiqa Ahmed.
The ban was imposed on charges in connection with corruption cases against them.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court's Senior Judge Mohammad Ash Shams Zaglul Hossain passed the order, allowing separate pleas filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Earlier, the ACC Investigation Officer and Assistant Director Nurul Islam filed the plea to impose travel ban on Shariful Islam Jinnah, while the Deputy Director of the anti-graft body Md Zakaria pleaded to slap a travel embargo against Kabir Bin Anwar.
