Bobby Hajjaj, the chairman of the Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM) on Wednesday filed a petition with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) seeking appropriate punishment to the Awami League (AL) and the 14-Party Alliance for 'crimes against humanity'.

In the petition, the NDM brought allegations against the Awami League (AL) and its 14-party alliance members for their direct involvement in barbaric crimes.
The complaint submitted to the office of the chief prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), which will be forwarded to the investigation team of the ICT for investigation, ICT prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud said.

He also said that the petition sought ICT order to ban Awami League and other parties in the 14 Party Alliance for 10 years.

Bobby filed the complaint against Awami League, Workers Party of Bangladesh, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Bangladesh Samyabadi Dal, Tariqat Foundation, Ganatantri Party, National Awami Party and other 14-Party members and to try them 'as parties'.

In the petition, Bobby says that on July 19, the Awami League-led 14 Party Alliance imposed a curfew amid the Anti-discrimination Student Movement. The members of the alliance decided to open fire on sight during the curfew.

"After this, they opened fire and committed a massacre. By making this decision, the Awami League, Workers Party, JSD, and the 14 Party Alliance committed crimes against humanity," it said.

"I want the tribunal to frame genocide charges against these parties and bring them to justice for their heinous crimes," Bobby said at a press briefing at the ICT prosecution office.

"We hope we will get justice from the International Crimes Tribunal," Bobby said.

The elder son of businessman Moosa Bin Shamsher, Bobby was at one point a special advisor to Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad. Now he is the chairman of his own party.
