Retired Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) 1982 (regular batch) Siraj Uddin Miah has been appointed Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser.
The Public Administra-tion Ministry on Wednesday appointed Siraj Uddin as Principal Secretary for two years on ontract.
According to the Public Administration Ministry sources, Siraj Uddin Miah is a retired joint secretary.
He was made officer on special duty (OSD) in 2009, immediately after Awami League and 14-Party Alliance led government had taken the charge.
Since then, he was not given any posting or promotion due to his alleged involvement with BNP politics.
He remained OSD and went on post retirement leave (PRL) in 2018.
Shipping Ministry Secretary AKM Matiur Rahman, who was assigned to the position only two days before with a promotion was made officer on special duty (OSD). On Monday, he was posted in the Shipping Ministry.
Land Ministry Secretary Khalil Ahmed was also made OSD in another notification of the PA Ministry.
Another retired Joint Secretary of 1982 (regular batch), ASM Saleh Ahmed was appointed as Senior Secretary to the Land Ministry on two years contract.
Additional Secretary Masudul Hasan, who was attached to the Public Administration Ministry, has been appointed Food Ministry Secretary.
Public Administration Ministry Joint Secretary (APD Wing) Dr Ziauddin Ahmed, who was already cleared of the allegation of taking bribe of Tk3 crore for deputy commissioner (DC) posting, has been made the new Member of the Directing Staff (MDS) of the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre.
He was cleared from the charge of bribery last week following the report of the probe body formed by the ministry to investigate the allegations.
In another notification, the PA Ministry transferred its Joint Secretary Mohammad Abu Noyeem to the Statistics and Informatics Division as joint secretary.
