C'nawabganj rivers flow below danger level, despite rising trend

The water level in the three rivers of Chapaonawabganj district are still following below danger level despite  further rises during the last 24 hours.

Water Development Board (WDB) said water level rose six centimeters in Padma, nine centimeters in Mohananda and 12 centimeters in Punarvaba during the last 24 hours.

After the rise, the water is still flowing 1.27 metres below the danger level in Padma, 1.37 metres below in Mohananda and 1.82 metres below in Punarvaba, it said.

The danger level mark is 22.05 metres in Padma, 20.55 metres in Mohananda and 21.55 metres in Punarvaba.

But, the water level now reached 20.78m at Panka point in Padma, 19.18m at Khalghat point in Mohananda and 19.73m at Rohonpur point in Punarvaba, sources said.
