KHULNA, Oct 3: A total of 31 officers of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) have been given charge to provide 'citizen service' at all 31 wards from Sunday.
Signed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KCC Laskar Tazul Islam, two notifications were issued regarding the matter on Wednesday evening, said a KCC press release.
Earlier, the Department of Local Government (LGD) removed KCC mayor, and additional charge was given to the divisional commissioner as administrator on August 19. Besides, the LGD has also removed councillors of all city corporations on September 26.
The KCC authorities have taken the decision centring the suffering of its citizens for collecting certificates like death, legacy, character and citizenship, birth registration, and different civic services, the press release added.
City-dwellers of KCC's 31 wards have been requested to collect their necessary certificates from the respective KCC officials, the press release further said.
Action will be taken against any officer who will unnecessarily harass any citizen after written complaint, it added.
