UP member killed in road accident in Gaibandha

A union parishad member was killed in a road accident in the Dariapur Bazar area under Sadar upazila in  Gaibandha district early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Mostaq Ahmed, 45, son of late Sirajul Haque at Analertari village in upazila.
 
Local sources said, being a co-rider, Mostaq was returning home from Kabiler Bazar on a motorcycle with another person. When the motorcycle reached Dariapur Bazar area at around 2am, Mostaq fell into a roadside ditch from the motorcycle, leaving him critically injured. 

He was rescued and taken to Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Masud Rana, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, confirmed the matter.
