Dear Sir
A tragic road accident on the Lohagara-Kalna-Dhaka highway claimed the life of a 33-year-old man and left another critically injured. The incident, which occurred on Saturday night near the Kalna Madrasha area, involved a passenger bus colliding with a motorbike. The victim, Md Rifatul Islam, a resident of Kundashi village in Lohagara municipality, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Such accidents highlight the urgent need for improved road safety measures in the region. Despite the increasing number of vehicles on the roads, enforcement of traffic regulations and infrastructure development often fall short. This incident underscores the dangers faced by motorcyclists, who are particularly vulnerable in collisions with larger vehicles.
Local authorities must take immediate action to enhance safety measures, including better signage, speed limits, and increased police presence on busy highways. Additionally, public awareness campaigns regarding road safety are essential to educate drivers and reduce reckless behavior.
