One held with Yaba tablets in Patuakhali

Joint forces arrested a drug peddler along with 218 pieces of Yaba tablets at Mirzaganj upazila in Patuakhali district on Sunday night.

The arrested man is Md Jeweel Mridiha, 31, a resident of Amragashi village in the upazila.

Captain Rimon Rafin Nishat said that acting on a tip-off, a team of joint forces conducted a raid in the area and arrested Jeweel from his house along with the drugs.

Later, he was handed over to Mirzaganj Police Station.

He was sent to the Court after filing a case against him under the Narcotics Control Act, said Md Shamim Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Mirzaganj Police Station.
