BDRCS employees urged to work dedicatedly for people of disaster-prone areas

GAIBANDHA, Oct 8: Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) Major General (Rtd) Rafiqul Islam urged the employees to work for the people of disaster-prone areas here dedicatedly in a bid to alleviate human sufferings.

"As a member of BDRCS, a humanitarian organization, it is your duty to stand beside and serve the affected people of disaster-prone areas  for protecting human life and health side by side with ensuring respect for all human beings during the emergencies caused by natural calamities." 

BDRCS Chairman Rafiqul Islam made the comments while he was exchanging views with the employees of BDRCS, district unit, at the hallroom of the unit office of the town here on Monday as the chief guest. 

He urged the members of the executive committee of the unit to be more serious in discharging their assigned works perfectly to attain the cherished goals and objectives of the organization.

Later, he met Chowdhury Moazzam Ahmad, deputy commissioner (DC) here, at his office and sought his administrative help and cooperation to run the ongoing projects and activities of the organization peacefully and successfully. 

Then, he also visited a community clinic located at Vati Buchagari Village under Kapasia Union of Sundarganj Upazila in the afternoon and participated at a meeting of community people there.

Speaking on the occasion, Islam urged the community people to take care of the community clinic properly to make it functional all the year round to get health services from it smoothly. 

Sanjib Biswas Sanjoy, deputy country representative of SRC (Swiss Red Cross), Mohammad Jasim Uddin Kabir, senior  manager resilient, Debashis Biswas, deputy assistant director, Amal Kumar Pramanik, project manager, and other officials including Residential Medical Officer Dr Rakibul Islam were present on the occasion.
