Dhaka University (DU), University Grants Commission (UGC) and the World Bank (WB) met to discuss various issues including implementation of different development projects at DU with financial support from WB at the Vice Chancellor's Lounge.
A press release issued by Md Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Director of DU Public Relations Office said on Sunday.
UGC Chairman Prof SMA Faiz, DU Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan, Pro-VC (Admin) Prof Sayema Haque Bidisha, Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Mamun Ahmed, UGC Members Prof Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan and Prof Mohammad Anwar Hossen, WB Senior Education Specialist TM Asaduzzaman, Senior Education Adviser Md Mahamud Ul Hoque and Project Director Prof Asaduzzaman were present at the meeting.
Construction of a residential hall for DU female students, formation of a special fund for providing scholarship among financially challenged students, improving Wi-Fi network at DU, development of DU Medical Centre and undertaking joint research and training programmes were discussed at the meeting, the press release added.
