Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin and US Acting Coordinator for Global Anti-Corruption Shelby Smith -Wilson have discussed strengthening collaboration to counter corruption, tackle money laundering and recover stolen assets at a meeting in Washington DC, Foreign Ministry release has said.
The talks also covered technical support for reforms, Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) treaty and enhancing experience and expertise sharing across critical sectors.
Particular attention was given to procurement systems, law enforcement, the judiciary, and media engagement reflecting a shared commitment to transparency and good governance, the release said.
Meanwhile, Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Uzra Zeya has said the United States values Bangladesh as a "partner" in the Indo-Pacific region and their "strong collaboration" as their leading partner on Rohingya response and number one source of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
