Armed hoodlums freed the fishermen at a location in the Myanmar part of the Bay of Bengal on October 7.

Subsequently, the fishermen contacted the Arakan army through local Myanmar civilians and surrendered to them. The BGB was informed of the matter on October 13.

Following negotiations, the Arakan army handed over the fishermen to the BGB at the zero line of the Naf River last night.  The fishermen have already been handed over to their respective families.
