NATORE, Oct 18: A mobile court in the district fined Tk 4,000 to three traders for selling essentials at a high price on Monday.
The mobile court was conducted at Nichabazar Kitchen Market in Natore. Rizu Tamanna, executive magistrate of the district administration, led the mobile court.
During the drive time, Mehedi Hassan, assistant director of National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate- Natore, Roich Uddin, general secretary of Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB)-Natore, Army members of local camp and police were present at that time.
Executive Magistrate Rizu Tamanna said, they are checking the quantity of regular supply of essentials in local markets following the order of the government.
Traders are willingly selling each item by increasing the price of Tk 10 to 12 against the normal profit, she added.
