Govt appoints administrator at BGMEA to hold new election

The government has appointed Anwar Hossain as administrator for Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA). He was vice chairman of export promotion bureau (EPB) prior to his new appointment. 

The appointment has been given as per Section 17 of Trade Organization Act-2022, said a press release.

On Sunday, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce (Director General of Trade Organizations) Md Abdur Rahim Khan signed this order.

According to the order, the newly appointed administrator will held election to BGMEA within 120 days and hand over its responsibility to an elected committee through a fair and impartial election.
