The U.S. Embassy has donated eight boats, 110 life vests, and other essential rescue tools designed to enhance Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD)'s capabilities in responding to natural disasters.

Additionally, medical and HAZMAT items, including 120 disposable coveralls and 100 medical bags, were provided that will help first responders respond to emergencies where substances could pose a risk to health, safety, or the environment, an Embassy release has said on Sunday.

The U.S. Embassy continues to find opportunities to build resilience and invest in disaster response in Bangladesh, it reads.

Megan Bouldin, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy, said, "This donation underscores our enduring partnership and shared commitment to enhancing disaster response and saving lives."

In a significant demonstration of commitment to its partnership, the U.S. Embassy's Pacific Augmentation Team (PAT) donated vital Swift Water Rescue and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) protection equipment to Bangladesh's (FSCD).

This donation will bolster FSCD's operational readiness, ensuring quicker and more effective responses during emergencies, ultimately saving countless lives across the nation.

The PAT and FSCD have been partners for over five years, having previously conducted dozens of Medical First Responder Seminars and other training events.
