A Dhaka court has imposed a ban on Golam Faruk Khondaker Prince, a former lawmaker of Pabna-5 constituency, to leave the country.

Acting Metropolitan Sessions Judge Ibrahim Miah issued this order following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Earlier Md Fazlul Haque, deputy director of the anti-graft body, submitted the petition.
The ACC prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam was present during the hearing.

The ACC in its plea said it is probing allegations of amassing huge illegal wealth through corruption and misuse of power, against the former lawmaker. He is now trying to escape the country to evade justice and a ban on his travel should be imposed.
