Over Tk 65 lakh fined for traffic rule violations

The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 1,731 cases and imposed fines Tk 65,48,500 against traffic rule violators on Wednesday.

Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, disclosed the matter through a media release on Thursday afternoon.

Besides, 103 vehicles were impounded, and 33 others were towed.

The official said the drives will continue to enforce traffic regulations in the Dhaka metropolitan area
