Man killed being hit by bus in Jhenidah

A man was killed after being hit by a bus in Jhenidah town on Friday.

The accident took place in the morning in Kalar Hat area of Arappur-Bus Terminal highway.
The dead was Rashedul Islam Rashed, 45, a resident of Pawahti village in Jhenaidah sadar.

Locals said that Rashed was crossing road in Kalar Hat area riding on a motorcycle in the morning. Meanwhile, a bus going to Barishal hit him and he fell on the side of the road, leaving him injured.

Local people rescued Rashed and took to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Jhenidah Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun said police went and impounded the bus after on information. But the driver and helper fled.
