Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a raid seized smuggled Indian goods worth over Taka 2.61 crore from Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, members of 25 BGB's Sarail Battalion, conducted a special operation in Chandura Bypass area in the upazila about 1 am, Sarail Battalion Commander Lt. Col Farah Mohammad Imtiaz said.
The seized goods are 450 kg cumin, sofa set and 942-meter cushion cover fabric, 12,847 pieces of medicines, 6,638 pieces of sunglasses, 28 pieces of sarees, 33.4 kg various types of pet's food and 23,520 pieces of cosmetic items, he added.
Process is underway to hand over the goods to Akhaura Customs office.
