A former joint convener of Chattogram city unit BNP has been expelled from all posts at all levels of the party, including primary membership on various charges, including breaching party discipline.
A notice, signed by the party's Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, was issued on Sunday regarding the expulsion of SK Khoda Totan.
The notice stated that there are clear allegations against Totan of involvement in land grabbing, violence, intimidation, and activities contradictory to the party’s principles and ideals.
As party has found specific allegations against him, it has been expelled from all positions, including primary membership, the notice added.
Earlier, on Saturday, a factional clash was broke out among the supporters of Omar Farooq, joint convener of Khulshi Thana unit BNP and Shah Alam, joint convener of Swechhasebak Dal Khulshi unit at Segunbagan of the city, over establishing supremacy in extortion.
At least six people of both groups were injured. According to the party sources, Omar Farooq is a follower of BNP's former joint convener SK Khoda Totan.
