BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said on Tuesday, "It would be very difficult for the interim government to achieve its goal by keeping the beneficiaries of the defeated mafia government in important positions of the state."

Speaking with members of the Hindu community virtually at a greeting and view exchanging programme at the Ladies Club in the capital he said that, the government should not take any hasty decision regarding constitutional issues.

Tarique called upon all to maintain  national unity at any cost to foil plots of  evil quarters.

He appealed to members of different religious communities not to be misled by rumours of associates of the fallen  fascist Awami League aimed at destabilising the country.

Tarique said he believes that if the political and economic empowerment of people can be ensured, no one will be able to take away people's freedom through any conspiracy.

He said, "In last 15 years the then fascist government ensured security for the terrorists by cutting pockets of the general people. Their divide and rule policy kept religious people in worry and anxiety."

Tarique said, "People of all religions including Muslims, Hindus of the country are now free from the fear of the Ayna Ghar after the dictator fled on August 5."

He also said the BNP does not want the interim government to fail its failure would be a setback for pro-democratic and pro-Bangladesh forces.

He said that there are discussions and analyses among political parties and even within the government regarding the formation process of the interim administration.

He said, "Some are raising questions about why the interim government has been sworn in under the Constitution or whether it is a revolutionary government."

Tarique feared that questions regarding the formation process could hinder the government's dynamism and lead to a diversion from its objectives.

He said, "BNP thinks that in matters directly related to national security or constitutional provisions, it is essential to avoid hasty decisions in governing the country. Instead, a well-thought-out and well-considered approach should be followed, making it easier to address any future challenges."
