Govt to form committee to identify fake FFs

The interim government will form a committee to identify those, who have enjoyed state benefits as freedom fighters without taking part in the Liberation War in 1971.

According to sources at the Liberation War Affairs ministry on Sunday (November 10), the committee might have seven members.

They said the committee will re-scrutinise the controversial freedom fighters, which may lead to the cancellation of fake certificates.

However, the construction of houses for freedom fighters has also been suspended until the identification of fake freedom fighters is completed, the source added.
