ISHWARDI, PABNA, Nov 11: A teenage boy was crushed under a train in Ishwardi Upazila of the district on Saturday night.
The accident took place at around 10 pm in front of Pakshi Railway Station on the Ishwardi-Khulna railway route.
The deceased was identified as Tanjid Ahmed Ratul, 18, son of Ziarul Islam, hailed from Bankishor Village under Charghat Upazila in Rajshahi.
The deceased's friend Alip Hossain, 18, was also seriously injured in the accident. They were operators of Tiani Company at Ishwardi EPZ.
Injured Alip Hossain said, "We both used to run at night every day on railway track. At around 10 pm on Saturday, we started running towards Bheramara on the rail line. Suddenly, I was knocked down by a train. When the train left, I saw that Ratul's body was cut by the train."
"Later on, local people rushed to the scene and brought me to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex," he said.
Officer-in-Charge of Ishwardi Railway Police Station Ziaur Rahman Zia confirmed the incident.
