Thrust on establishing standard academic institutions to build worthy citizens

GAIBANDHA, Nov 11: Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman who was an adviser to caretaker government led by Fakruddin Ahmed on Saturday emphasised the need for establishing standard academic institutions across the country to build well-equipped nation.  

"The academic institutions will have to be turned into knowledge acquiring centres through providing students with quality education so that the brilliant students are produced from these, and they can lead the nation towards desired goal as worthy citizens of the country by using their latent talent", he added. 

He made this remark   while addressing an inaugural function of Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK) at Residential Model School & College in  Nashratpur area in Sadar Upazila in the district as the chief guest. 

Rabiul Islam, additional secretary of the Ministry of Education (Secondary and Higher Education Division) and Chowdhury Muazzam Ahmad, deputy commissioner,  spoke  as special guests. 

Founder and Chairperson of the college Abdus Salam presided over the function. 

Earlier, Zahurul Qaiyum, principal of the institution, made a welcome speech highlighting the new college and its facilities for the students.  

Zillur Rahman urged all concerned to be more serious and professional in  providing quality education among students to help them make brilliant results.

Later on, he inaugurated the institution through releasing balloons in the sky along with guests and elite in the district.
