70 illegal establishments destroyed at Mongla Port

KHULNA, Nov 12: A mobile court demolished 70 illegal establishments in Mongla Port Authority (MPA) area in a day-long drive on Monday. 

The MPA led by its Executive Magistrate Sanjit Kumar conducted the drive from morning and evicted the establishments built on two acres of lands from both sides of the marine drive road of the old port area.

This information was confirmed by  Md Makruzzaman, deputy director (DD) of the Board and Public Relation Division of the MPA.

Director (Administration) of the MPA Md Nuruzzaman, DD Md Makruzzaman, and officers of the Estate Department of the MPA, were present during the drive.

The mobile court will continue its drives to evict 1,100 more illegal establishments and recover eight more acres of lands from the grabbers, Makruzzaman said.

Earlier, MPA prepared a list of illegal establishments in order to recover its lands from the grabbers.
