Titas cuts illegal connections, removes pipeline

As part of the ongoing campaign against illegal gas connections and pipeline, Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Limited disconnected 7,004 illegal connection and removed 40 kilometer illegal pipelines under its jurisdiction.

"During the last two months drive, we have disconnected 7,004 connections and removed 40 kilometer gas pipeline, installed illegally to supply gas from the main pipeline," Managing Director of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Limited Shahnewaz Parvez told BSS on Tuesday.

He said the Titas has been conducting campaign against all sorts of illegal connections and illegal pipeline, installed to supply gas, under its jurisdictions aimed at ensuring smooth supply of gas to its clients.

The managing director said that the Titas will continue the campaign against illegal gas connections and illegal gas pipeline.

According to Titas sources, the drive has been conducting in Keraniganj, Kamrangirchar, Fatulla, Chashara, Siddhirganj, Araihazar, Narayanganj, Savar, Kaliakoir, Chandra, Joydebpur, Gazipur, Dhanmondi, Mirpur, Gulshan, Ashulia, Bhaluka, Mymensingh and Meghnag ghat areas.

The drive is being carried through executive magistrates along with company employees, it said.    —BSS
