The Social Development Foundation (SDF) has provided financial assistance to the family members of the martyrs and the injured in the student-public movement in July-August.
The financial assistance was provided to the family members of the SDF through a programme organized by the SDF on Tuesday. Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Adviser to the Ministry of Finance and Science and Technology was the chief guest at the programme.
At the programme, the Finance Adviser pledged to provide financial assistance to the family members of the martyrs and the injured who are beneficiaries of the SDF and to make them self-reliant by providing them with job-oriented training.
He said that the sacrifice and participation of the family members of the SDF proves that the student-public uprising in July-August 2024, in which the entire population participated, was a success.
In July-August, during the student-public movement against discrimination, seven members of families benefiting from the Resilience, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood Improvement (RELI) project implemented by SDF with the support of the World Bank in 20 districts were martyred in the movement. In addition, 16 members were seriously injured and 33 sustained minor injuries.
