Now workers of 'Taratex Fashion Ltd' blocked Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in front of Shahadat Plaza on Wednesday morning for unpaid wages.

Around 8:30AM, the worker of the factory in Gazipur City Corporation's Gazipur area took to the street and started demonstration in front of the factory. At one stage, with small procession, the protesters went to the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway and blocked the busy highway.

Police are trying to manage them, but the workers said the authorities forced them to take on street as they did not pay the workers' salary for the month of October.
Assistant superintendent of Gazipur industrial police Mosharraf Hossain said, "We are trying to contact the authorities of the Taratex Fashion to resolve the issue and to remove the workers from the highway as there create huge tailback on both sides of the highway.

Taratex factory authorities could not be contacted over phone despite several attempt.

Traffic police's SI Monir Hossain said vehicles are moving slowly from Dhaka-Mymensingh's Tongi College Gate to Chandana Chourasta after 10:30AM.
