Young man electrocuted in Habiganj

HABIGANJ, Nov 16: A young man was electrocuted in Nabiganj Upazila of the district on Wednesday night.

The incident took place in Joynagar Village of the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Md Alamgir Mia, 30, son of Lal Mia, a resident of the area. He was an electrician by profession.

Local sources said that Alamgir came in contact with live electricity at around 11pm while he was working on an internal electric line of a house in the area, which left him critically injured.

Later on, he was rescued and taken to Nabiganj Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Habiganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge of Nabiganj Police Station Md Kamal Hossain confirmed the incident.
