Nephew 'stabbed dead by uncle' in Ctg

A youth was stabbed to death allegedly by his uncle at Patiya in Chattogram district due to a trivial incident on Saturday night.

The incident took place around 11:00 pm in Hazi Para area of Ward No-9 under Haidgaon union of the upazila.
The victim Rasel, 23, son of late Jamal Mia, was a resident of that area. Rasel, father of two sons aged one and a half years and four months, was a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw driver by profession.

The accused is Jalal Uddin, 45, of the same area.

Nasir Mia, another uncle of the victim Rasel, said after the death of Rasel's father in his childhood, his mother got married elsewhere. His grandparents raised him. Jalal Uddin lives in a rented house in Chittagong.

'At night, he came to the village house and entered the room to find one of his mattresses being used by his nephew. At one point, he got angry with his nephew and hit his throat with a sharp knife', he said.
 
Later, he was rushed to Patiya Hospital with serious injuries where doctors declared him dead.

Patiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Zayed Nazmun Noor said that an operation is underway to arrest the accused Jalal Uddin. The body has been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue.
