Pick-up hits brick-laden truck, driver-helper killed

A pick-up van driver and helper were killed when it hit a truck at Dhamrai in Dhaka early Sunday.

The accident took place at around 1 am at Dhulivita bus stand in Dhamrai.
The dead were driver Kanchan, 23, son of Anisur Rahman, hailed from Jamalpur Sadar Upazila, and helper Ashraful, 19, son of Islam Uddin from Netrakona.

According to highway police, a brick-laden truck was standing at Dhulibita bus stand on the Dhaka-Aricha highway. At that time, a pick-up coming from behind rammed the truck. The driver of the pick-up and his helper died on the spot.

Savar Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sawgatul Alam confirmed it.
