Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Kushtia have recovered 1.6 kilograms of cocaine valued at approximately 8 million taka in two separate operations.
This information was disclosed in a press release signed by Lieutenant Colonel Md. Mahbub Morshed Rahman, PSC, commander of the Kushtia BGB Battalion-47, on Monday afternoon.
According to the press release, the first operation took place around 11:30 PM on Sunday night near Daulatpur border. The BGB's Ashroyan BoIP patrol team conducted an anti-narcotics and anti-smuggling operation, recovering 0.380 kg of Indian-origin cocaine from the Puratan Thotarpara field.
The market value of this seizure is estimated at Tk 19 lakh.
In a second operation on Monday morning at 11:00 AM., a special BGB patrol team raided the "Mahananda Express" train at Mirpur Railway Station, seizing 1.220 kg of Indian-origin cocaine.
The estimated market value of this batch is Tk 61 lakh.
General diaries have been filed with Daulatpur and Mirpur police stations regarding the recoveries.
