Kaktaruaa, an advocacy platform committed to cyber safety and awareness, recently organized a seminar titled 'First Aid of Social Media Problems' at the EMK Center.

The event aimed to educate students on handling cyberbullying, harassment, hacking, and other social media challenges. In partnership with Cultural Classicists and Probfly IT, this initiative underscored the necessity of collaborative efforts to combat rising cyber threats among the youth.
The seminar covered several important topics, focusing on essential steps that young users can take if they encounter cyberbullying or harassment. The panelists also discussed preventive measures to maintain online safety, and provided guidance on how to seek legal assistance in case of serious cyber incidents. This session was designed to empower students with basic knowledge of cyber resilience and to encourage responsible social media use.

Abdullah Al Imran, founder of Kaktaruaa.org, opened the seminar by addressing the growing impact of social media in the lives of young people. “Social media has become an inseparable part of our lives,” he stated. “However, it comes with risks that we need to be aware of and prepared to handle. Knowing how to protect ourselves is essential.” Imran emphasized the importance of understanding the responsibilities associated with digital presence, encouraging the youth to be proactive in learning about online safety.

Among the esteemed speakers was Zahid Saikat, founder of Cultural Classicists, who spoke on the importance of cultural values in navigating the digital landscape. “While we embrace the digital age, it’s crucial to stay grounded in our cultural and social values. Together, we can address the challenges posed by the online world,” Saikat noted. He emphasized that young people play a critical role in building a responsible and safe digital environment, highlighting the need for combined efforts in educating society about cyber threats.

The seminar also featured representatives from Probfly IT, who underscored the need for technical knowledge along with social awareness in tackling cyber risks. They added that initiatives like these seminars are instrumental in inspiring the younger generation to be vigilant and informed while using social media.
