Barisal Mohila AL leader Kohinoor arrested

Barisal City Mohila Awami League general secretary and city corporation's former panel mayor Kohinoor Begum was arrested by police on Tuesday (November 19).

She was arrested from her residence on Bhatikhana Road under Ward No. 7 in Barisal city early Tuesday afternoon. Hotwali Model Police Station's officer-in-charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman confirmed about the arrest.
Police sources said Kohinoor Begum is accused in four, out of the cases filed against Awami League leaders and workers in Barisal following the fall of Sheikh Hasina government. It is being investigated whether there was any other case filed against her, he said.

It may be mentioned that Kohinoor Begum has been elected councilor from the reserved seat No. 3 (general 7,8 and 9) ward since 2008. She was the panel mayor in the last council of the Barisal City Corporation.
