A truck driver was killed and three other people were injured in a head-on collision between two trucks in the Notunbari area under Jhenaidah's Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Al Amin, 25, son of Azizul Islam, a resident of Kotchandpur upazila in the district.
It was learnt that a fertilizer-carrying truck, coming from Chittagang port, collided head-on with a sand-laden truck in the area. The driver of the fertilizer-laden truck died on the spot and, the other three people from both vehicles were injured.
The injured were rescued and taken to a hospital.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Mritanjoy Biswas, officer-in-charge of Jhenaidah Arampur Highway Police Station.
